About the Event
Bagh-e-Alam was a huge garden covering the area between Alauddin Khilji's Siri Fort and lake Hauz-i-Alai. The lake was later renamed to Hauz Khas and the garden to Deer Park. With several monuments in it, the Deer Park encloses numerous secrets behind its thick vegetation. In this walk, we shall visit the Madrasa of Feroz Shah Tughlaq and the Tomb of this first Conservation Architect known to India.
His tomb reveals many architectural marvels and styles, which were born during his era. The original Tomb, where Tughlaq wanted to be buried is in Malviya Nagar. But then he chose this place for his burial. During his lifetime, tughlaq built several mosques, madrasas, hunting lodges and caravan sarais. This saturday, we shall be talking about all of them.
