About the Event

Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji, the holy book of Sikhs contains 5894 Shabads (hymns), composed by 43 holy figures. Out of these, there are 7 Sikh Gurus and 4 disciples of the Sikh Gurus. The remaining 15 Bhagats and 17 Bhatts are seldom talked about. This session is to introduce you to these holy figures, whose verses were included in the holy book. The Sikh Gurus were the first 5 and the last 2. 4 Bhagats were Mardana, Satta, Balwand and Sunder.

About the Speaker

S. Vikramjit Singh Rooprai is an IT Consultant, who, turned his interest to heritage. He started reading history from a different angle with his urge to find the flip side of the coin. He has been reading the Shabads of Sri Guru Granth Sahib jee since childhood. This time, he shares his findings with everyone.

How to Reach

By Car: From AIIMS, reach Safdarjung Tomb and turn right on Lodhi Road. Take another Right from the Islamic Centre on Lodhi Road. Turn left immediately into the (IHC) gates and park in IHC Basement.
If coming from Nizamuddin side, take the service lane from Airforce Bal Bharti School. Take left into the gates of IHC and park
By Metro: Get down at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and you may walk upto the IHC. Some may also choose to get down at Jor Bagh Metro Station or the Khan Market Station. A battery/auto rikshaw can help you reach the venue easily
By Bus: India Habitat Centre is a famous bus stop on Lodhi Road, well connected by many routes.
Once at India Habitat Centre, come to Gulmohar Hall on first floor opposite Stein Auditorium
