About the Event
We shall begin our tour from the Historic Gurudwara of Rakab Ganj near Central Secretariat. We shall proceed to visit the following gurudwaras:
- Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib
- Gurudwara Bangla Sahib
- Gurudwara Mata Sundri
- Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib
- Gurudwara Nanak Piau
- Gurudwara Majnu ka Tilla
- Gurudwara Damdama Sahib
- Gurudwara Bala Sahib
- Gurudwara Moti Bagh
- Gurudwara Baba Banda Singh Bahadur
Out of these Gurudwaras, only two have historic Mughal structures in place and two other have original historic wells from Mughal era. The shrines were taken up by Sikh Community in exchange of releasing the Red Fort, after they captured Shahjahanabad and the Mughal Emperor was forced to leave capital. This, and much more, on this day long journey across the lovely capital of India.
We will travel by a bus after paying homage at Gurudwara Rakabganj (starting point). While we will keep snacks and water in Bus, let's not miss the chance to get blessed by Guru ka Langar. You will also get a chance to participate in Langar and do sewa, if you wish to.
