About the Event

June second week, Heritage Lovers from Youth for Heritage Foundation shall explore the Wonder of hills, known as the Himalayan Pyramid. This temple, the Ekasham Shailkrit Mandir Samooh, popularly known as Masroor Rock Cut Temples Complex is an 8th century Monolithic Structure. There are 15 temples carved out of a single mountain.
Our journey will also cover Forts from Chandigarh to Kangra. Here's the full Itinerary:

Day 1 (12-June 2015 – Friday)

  • Start from Delhi
  • Breakfast in Murthal
  • Visit Manauli Fort near Chandigarh
  • Visit Kila Kesgarh in Anandpur Sahib
  • Lunch at the Birth place of Sikhsim, Sri Anandpur Sahib
  • Check-in at hotel in Anandpur or Una

Day 2 (13-June-2015 – Saturday)

  • Have breakfast
  • Start from Bathu ki Ladi
  • Visit Masroor Rock Cut Temples
  • Visit Nagarkot Fort Museum
  • Visit Kangra Fort
  • Check-in at Hotel in KAngra

Day 3 (14-June-2015 – Sunday)

  • Early morning, start from Hills
  • Have Breakfast
  • Reach Sirhind via Hoshiarpur
  • Visit Monuments and Shrines in Sirhind
  • Stop at Shambhu Sarai before entering Haryana
  • Reach Delhi by 9 pm.

Important things to know

  • The trip shall began at around 5 AM from Dhaula Kuan and proceed to Delhi-Karnal Bypass via Ring Road. All participants are requested to reach Dhaula Kuan, or anywhere on Ring Road between Dhaula Kuan and GT Karnal Bypass (Mukarba Chowk) on time.
  • Route and Monuments to visit can be changed during the journey as per consensus of entire group
  • Total cost of the trip will be INR 12,000 (Twelve Thousand only). This includes travel, stay, food, monument tickets and all applicable taxes
  • Charges do not include any personal expenses or in-room orders during the hotel stay
  • Charges are non-refundable
  • Participation will be confirmed only after the full payment of trip charges
  • Last date of confirming participation: 8 June 2015

About the Speaker

Vikramjit Singh Rooprai, founder of Delhi Heritage Photography Club and Youth for Heritage Foundation is a renowned Heritage Activist, involved in promotion and protection of Heritage. He is an expert on lesser known heritage and always brings out rare facts, which people tend to ignore.

How to Reach

Bus shall move from Dhaula Kuan to GT-Karnal Bypass (Mukarba Chowk) via Ring Road. Participants can hop on anywhere enroute.
