About the Event

More than a century before Shahjahan commissioned the construction of Shahjahanabad and the Red Fort, Islam Shah Suri (aka Salim Shah Suri) constructed a fort on the Island in Yamuna River. Centuries later, the yamuna has changed its course and the Fort now lies on mainland, with sole access from within the UNESCO World Heritage site of Red Fort.
We will explore various 2 Museums inside Red Fort and the Salimgarh Fort. Since this walk does not focus on the 'touristy' areas of Red Fort, we will conclude our walk at the Salimgarh. However, if anyone wishes to continue exploring rest of the fort, s/he will be free to do so.

Charges for the walk (Rs. 300) include ticket to Red Fort and to all Museums. You can pay for the trip in cash or by PayTM on the spot.

How to Reach

If coming by car, part in Red Fort Parking and walk to the Ticket Counter. In case you are coming by Metro, take the Heritage Line and get down at Red Fort Metro Station. We shall meet outside the Ticket counter.

Precautions

Wear comfortable walking shoes and carry a bottle of water. Do not bring bags, as they are not allowed inside the Fort (Only ladies purse and camera bags allowed). Tripods are not allowed inside the Fort and also, photography by phone or camera is prohibited inside the museum.
